Ex Meta rep struggles to secure post 200 days after being fired

The organization has cut about 21,000 positions through November 2022 as it tries to console financial backers that it is getting costs under control amid declining earnings growth, high expansion and concerns that Reality Labs could be draining excess cash.

Since the beginning of this current year, IT organizations have adopted drastic cost-cutting measures. Some tech giants have led massive cutbacks, increasing vulnerability among remaining workers and resonating with large numbers of others. Meta reported a round of cuts in which more than 20,000 employees lost their positions. Recently, a former representative of the company said on LinkedIn that it has been more than 200 days and she is still struggling to find another job. She also said she misses "working" with people and "working as a team."

Suzanne Dutter, who worked for a long time as a specialized spotter at Facebook, said in her post, "It's been 201 days since I was affected by Meta's cut. I'm usually working to track new business. I never imagined after 6 1/2 months that I would not be playing another role under any circumstances. Yet, here I am. I realize there are many TA people in this same dilemma and I really Want to believe that we all find our new homes soon."

She added, "Supporting your life for 6+ months without a business is overwhelming. Not knowing if it will last an additional half year is frightening. I am confident that my 20+ significant recruitments will help me in my next life." Will take a job. I miss working, I miss building teams and relationships across ventures."

At that time, Ms. Dutter encouraged her LinkedIn organization to help her find a new direction of work. Concluding the post, the previous Meta representative said, "I value each and every one of you and believe there will be light before this storm ends soon!"

'Dangerous': Ex-Meta employee struggles to secure post 200 days after being fired

The organization has cut around 21,000 posts from November 2022.

Since the beginning of this current year, IT organizations have adopted drastic cost-cutting measures. Some tech demons have led to massive outages, increasing vulnerability among key representatives and resonating with a large number of others. Meta announced a few rounds of cuts in which more than 20,000 delegates lost their status. Recently, a former representative of the company said on LinkedIn that it has been more than 200 days and she is still struggling to find another job. She also said she misses "working" with people and "working as a team."

Suzanne Dutter, who worked as a specialized scout at Facebook for a long time, said in her post, "It's been 201 days since I was affected by the Meta cuts. I regularly check in on Crush to track new work. I never imagined after 6 1/2 months that I would not be playing another role under any circumstances. However, this is where I am. I realize that there are many TA people in this same difficult situation and I "Really want to believe that we will all find our new homes soon."

She added, "Supporting your life for 6+ months without a business is overwhelming. Not knowing if it will last an additional half year is frightening. I am confident that my 20+ significant recruitments will help me in my next life." Will take a job. I miss working, I miss building teams and making contacts in enterprises."

At that time, Ms. Dutter encouraged her LinkedIn organization to help her find a new direction of work. Concluding the post, the former Meta worker said, "I value each and every one of you and believe there will be light before this storm ends soon!"

Meanwhile, Meta was looking to lay off representatives at its Metaverse-based Reality Labs division, the unit focused on making custom silicon, on Oct. 4, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. Representatives were educated about the cuts in a post on Meta's internal conversation work environment on October 3. The post said he would be informed of his status with the organization by Wednesday morning.

The organization is planning to cut about 21,000 positions through November 2022 as it tries to console financial backers that it is driving earnings growth, higher expansion and controlling costs amid concerns that Reality Labs is losing too much cash. In a proclamation in the spring of this year, President Imran Zuckerberg said that the main part of the current year's cuts would take place in the spring, although "in some cases, it may take until the end of the year to finalize these changes."
